Introduction of SPPAP Project

Vocational Training Organization (VTO) – SPPAP Component

In April 2023, the Government of Punjab, supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), launched Phase-IV of the Southern Punjab Poverty Alleviation Project (SPPAP)-Vocational Training Organization (VTO) component. This initiative targets 10 districts in South and North Punjab, aiming to equip 54,555 men and women with employable skills. The project, which began in 2014, has already trained 45,000 rural individuals across various trades through over 2,000 mobile field training centers.

These efforts, spanning districts like Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, and others, focus on fostering self-employment and wage opportunities. Notably, the program underscores its commitment to ensuring skilled individuals access meaningful employment opportunities, exemplified by initiatives like the Sppap rozgaar job portal.
